MSV (owners of Brands Hatch and a number of other UK tracks) have as expected cancelled all their track events including Track days until the end of April.

Not sure what they have done for anyone who had booked and paid for March or April cancelled events ?

MSV (Brands Hatch etc) are now taking Track day bookings from the 18th May.  :028:
So a cautious thumbs up for that at least, I think I will wait a little while to see how the first ones run and work out.
I won't have enough miles on the 765 to use that, and the ZX-636 now needs a new battery and a fair bit of TLC, I will have to get off my butt and at least get prepared  :164:

Managed to get out on a couple of local trackdays at Brands Hatch in the last few weeks,
Not got enough miles / not brave enough to use the Moto2 on track yet so I have used the trusty Kawasaki ZX636.

The first event was an evening session on the 1.2 mile Indy Circuit, so not on track until 5 pm after the "daytime" riders are finished.
I've not been on track for a couple of years so it was a good start for a shorter event on the very familiar shorter circuit as well  :002: It had rained during the day but thankfully the afternoon and evening were dry.

The only negative was due to the social distancing requirements the evening session riders could not use the pit garages and we had to set up in the lower paddock and ride through to the track for each session and as there were only 2 groups (Novice-Inter or Inter-Advanced) and you were on track every 20 minutes you were either on track  :152: or rushing around to get back on track  :151:  But at least it was a good shakedown to get back on track for bike and rider.

The next date was a full day on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on the 20th July, thankfully dry and sunny all day :152:
4 groups this time so plenty of time between sessions and we were based in the main paddock behind the pit garages so straight on and off the track when called up for your group.
The pit garages were very limited with only 3 bikes / riders allowed in each and there were 200 bikes on track that day, so with the track opening at 7 am I arrived at 7.15 as just about the last to arrive and virtually no space left in the paddock :027:
The administration of signing on and noise testing all the bikes was a bet of a drag but once all sorted the time on track was great.
The GP circuit is really good and although is an extension to the short Indy circuit it seem totally different with longer straights and some faster sweeping bends  :001:
The bike has developed a but of what seems like extra exhaust noise so I suspect I have a leak somewhere, so a bit more work to do before I will be out again. :158:
