    QuickShifter Trouble

    Hey all,

I'm trying to remove the quick shifter but I can't get this ball link to detach. I already removed the pin so I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do here.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes they can be a tight fit and require a bit of leverage. Try a flat head screwdriver.

I'm worried I'll snap the quick shifter you know? I'll give it a try tomorrow though.

Don't lever it at the actual quickshifter part. Do it at the ball joint and pull it apart at the same time.

There is a spring clip/ring inside the female side which 'snaps' the ball into place. You have to overcome this spring pressure to pop it off. Just be very careful where you apply your lever loads, as Farcanal mentions. You'll have to get creative to avoid damaging the foam collar, I normally use a small spacer to lever between the foam and the female part, so not pinching the foam bit. Hope this helps..
