Lithium Battery Causes Service Light To Turn On
    on: November 21, 2022, 05:01:43 am

I'm wondering if anyone could help me figure out why this happened and how to fix it.

Basically I replace the led acid batter in my 765 with a Lithium ion one from anti gravity. I got the batter from revzilla and it works with no issues. However the service light won't turn off now. I ask my local triumph dealer what to do and they said to just use the led acid one. It doesn't seem like anyone else is having this issue though so I'm curious if anyone has a solution or if it's just me.

    Thanks in advance!

I highly doubt a lithium battery would cause the service light to turn on. Have you read the code?

If you disconnect the battery, the time and date are reset.
Clock to 00:00 and date to 01/01/2000.
your ECU thinks you haven't done any maintenance for 22 years and shows the service icon.
Set the date and time and the service icon will disappear.

After checking I could clearly see that indeed the date had been reset to 1/1/2000. Unfortunately though, after changing the date back the light is still on. I'm thinked I might have gone too long without fixing the issue.

*Side note - how do I check the error code?

it can't be because of the duration. The error code can be read and deleted with Tune ECU on android mobile or tablet and Bluetooth ODB connector.
an error that has been corrected also clears itself after 3 warm-up cycles
