Just ordered a set of these:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GXHRTRF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Haven't tried them out yet but I suspect it will reduce my cursing.

I'd forgotten to report back on these tools.  They work great!  Worthwhile tools to have for other things too but they make the battery strap installation a breeze, 5-10 seconds.

Ha, yeah, I bought one of those the week you made your original post. Thing works like a charm. It should come with the freaking bike...

    Nice find! Thanks!

Does anyone have any tips for re-installing the battery strap?  I end up spending an embarrassing amount of time fiddling with it to get the ring aligned and pushing down with screwdrivers or whatever tool I can find.  Since I have to get in there again next month, just wondering if someone has any tips for tools or techniques to making it more efficient.

My tip for anyone struggling with this and not wanting to buy something: get a (lady)friend to help you. One person uses two hands and literally just pulls the strap up from where it's permanently attached in order to lengthen it as long as possible, while the other uses fingertips to push the hook down the other side of the battery and get it connected.

If you do it solo you literally don't have enough hands and always end up putting pressure on the battery itself with the strap -- which then just pushes the battery and blocks you from getting your fingers in.

By yourself: many headaches and scraped fingers.

With the wife: 60s and done.
