Quick Shifter Issue?
on: September 05, 2021, 10:07:00 PM
Went out for a spin and did a hard pull and it wouldnít quick shift from 2nd to 3rd. Let off the gas a little and it went to 3rd but then wouldnít go into fourth. Rode all day noticing it had issues shifting 2nd-4th at times. Is there an adjustment or is it a potential issue? 1100 miles on it.

Iíve been having the same issue, Iíve got some play in the shifter where it connects to the rear set. I tried tightening it but itís already pretty damn tight as it is. Gna call Triumph this later morning when they open.

Good morning guys.

Quick Q.

What rpm are you trying to click at.

The QS only works above 9 k rpm.

Works best at after 11k rpm.

If your rolling on hard and shifting to early then the tranny might not be in the sweet spot and the QS can only do so much.

QS are very sensitive to speed and torque   and need to be used properly. They are not user friendly on the street.

Hope this eases some of your concerns.

Maybe slide a thin washer to make up the mill or two so your rear set is smoother.

Iíve done that many times. Even made my own shims for those kind of issues.

You can fix it and not waste your time at the dealer. Any Qs Iím right here.

Itís definitely under a heavy roll in the higher rpms. It always seems to be 2-3 gear as well. Iím almost convinced itís the little bit of play in the rear set, once I let off the throttle and re-adjust my feet, it shifts without issue.
Iím going to look around and see what i have laying around, I had to make spacers for my R6 I think I may have some extras.

Got to admit my qs and blipper work at all revs, smooth as, never use the clutch once rolling, well maybe for a cheeky wheelie  :084:
